Alana is a registered psychotherapist and Canadian certified counsellor in Toronto who works with you in person, by phone or by secure video. She transitioned into mental health and wellness after practising law for many years in Toronto, London and New York. She volunteers at a local non-profit organization and is an ASIST (Applied Suicide Skills Intervention Skills Training) Trainer and safeTALK (suicide awareness for everyone) Trainer. She edits horror fiction for fun. She has a young son who she adores.
Alana takes a compassionate-focussed, strengths-based and collaborative approach using cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy and other evidence-based therapeutic orientations. With Alana, you will consider how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours connect. You will look together at what has worked … and what hasn’t. You will also both look at where you want to go and how you might get there.
Alana helps people who are 16 years or older who are under stress for different reasons. They might be dealing with anxiety, depression, life/career/school concerns, relationships, loss, trauma or other stresses and challenges. They are tired of feeling stuck. They come from different cultures, religious backgrounds and walks of life. They want to better cope with problems that are interfering with their lives. They want to be connected, competent and free to act true to their values so they can break out of their cycle of stress and unhappiness. They are ready to be heard and validated with caring and compassion.
Alana is located at 1920 Yonge Street, Suite 200 near Davisville Subway Station and at 80 Carlton Street, Suite 10 near College Subway Station. Paid parking is available and both buildings are wheelchair accessible.
