Brittany holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Trent University. She has completed post-graduate training and advanced field placement in Expressive Arts from Fleming College’s Haliburton School of the Arts.
Brittany works with children (4 yrs +), adolescents, adults, families and groups. Much of her work focuses on child and adolescent issues, transitions and adjustment, communication, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, anger management, stress management, self-esteem, confidence, and identity issues.
Brittany applies a holistic, collaborative, strengths-based approach to counselling. Her client-centered therapeutic style is eclectic in nature, integrating a variety of therapeutic approaches, and adjusting the approaches used to meet each client's unique style, interests, strengths, and goals.
Additionally, Brittany has advanced training in cognitive-behavioural therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, play therapy, expressive arts facilitation, trauma and sexual violence, and drum circle facilitation, as well as foundational training in dialectical behavioural therapy and mindfulness-based practices. She is currently a member with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists and Arts Health Network Canada.
In her work as an Expressive Arts Practitioner, Brittany facilitates workshops and individual expressive arts sessions to a wide array of clientele who are interested in pursuing creativity, positivity, healing, and individual transformation.
