Laurie has a deep compassion for people and has been gifted with a special sensitivity to those who are hurting and grieving. Her own personal journey has uniquely gifted her to come along side people from all walks of life, evoking hope for the future. Her greatest desire in her counselling practice is to see long-term healing and restoration brought into the lives of her clients.
Laurie is passionate about working with people who have suffered and found themselves hindered by a variety of concerns, including grief, depression, abuse, trauma, couple difficulties, fear and anxiety, low self-esteem and relational. She is also deeply committed to coming alongside her clients as they seek to overcome hurts and develop a healthy sense of self.
The combination of her training as well as her own personal story has equipped Laurie to understand the complexities of life and helps her to walk alongside people in the midst of their own difficult journeys.
Laurie completed her Masters of Divinity with a Counselling Concentration at Tyndale Seminary, graduating in April 2010. Her undergraduate experience is in Marketing.
She works with women, older children (10+), teens, and couples. Her areas of practice include depression, anxiety, FOO issues, co-dependence, self-esteem, spiritual issues, grief, and relationship challenges.
Laurie is a client-centered therapist who uses an integrated therapy framework tailored to the needs of each individual client. The primary modalities she works with are: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Solutions Focussed therapy; Psychodynamic; Mindfulness.
Laurie’s hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays only – 1556 Highway 2, Courtice, ON, L1E 2R8 (Upper floor of Dr. Connie Tang’s office).
