Couples and Family Therapist
Adriana is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health. She has been in the field of mental health for over 5 years and trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy externship facilitated by Dr. Sue Johnson. Adriana is a college Professor and values the use of psychoeducation with her clients. She believes that vulnerability is the key to connection and feels honoured to be part of the journey of self discovery for her clients. Adriana uses an eclectic model of therapy that is client-centred, based in attachment, and integrates interventions from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Adriana values the importance of the therapeutic relationship and works to create a safe, open, and welcoming space for clients to feel heard and validated. She also supports individuals, couples, and families with issues concerning grief and loss, substance use, behavioural addiction, relationships, trauma, and overall mental health challenges.
