Alexandra Podgorska

Clinician

Alex is a Yorkville University graduate student completing her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. While predominantly focusing through a cognitive behavioural theoretical orientation, Alex is adaptable to work with each individual case and thus also takes on an eclectic approach to counselling; by taking into consideration a variety of therapeutic principles and philosophies in order to create an ideal treatment plan to meet the specific needs of each client.

In addition, Alex has had extensive training in Neurofeedback, Quantitative Electroenecephalograph Assessments, Psychoeducational Assessments, as well as Brain-Spotting; a powerful, focused treatment method that identifies processes and releases core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Alex finds it incredibly rewarding to aid clients in creating goals in order to help them enhance their coping skills, quality of life and potential, facilitate behavioural change, improve relationships and promote their decision making.
