Registered Psychotherapist, Couples Therapist
Naomi Yano is a Registered Psychotherapist and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist working in central Mississauga. She works with both adult individuals and couples in coping with stressors and relationship challenges. Her special interests include intense emotions (including depression and anxiety), grief or loss, relationship break-ups and infidelity. She utilizes mindfulness based practices, cognitive behavioural therapy, and emotionally focused therapy.
Naomi completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Toronto. She then finished her Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy while studying in southern California.
Naomi believes our early life experiences are influential in shaping how we behave, cope with our emotions, and relate to others. When we are able to recognize and bring to awareness some of these factors, we are also empowered to make changes and learn new ways of experiencing ourselves, others, and the world.
Living a mindful life is important to Naomi, and she takes the time to enjoy living moment to moment. The attitudes of compassion, non-judgment and loving kindness are appreciated in Naomi’s work with her clients, her relationships to those around her, and to the environment and the earth.
