Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Samantha is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Yorkville University graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Over the past five years, she has worked at the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) working with and assessing clients with depression, anxiety, trauma experiences, and psychotic disorders. She has also volunteered at the Toronto Distress Centre providing support and crisis intervention for clients in distress.
Samantha utilizes a holistic and individualistic approach throughout the therapeutic process to accommodate each client’s unique experience, needs, and goals for therapy. She helps clients gain insights into their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and strengths as well as helps them process past and present experiences. Samantha strives to create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment and values the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
Samantha uses Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and mindfulness techniques. Additionally, Samantha implements Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an effective therapeutic technique, to aid clients in reducing symptoms associated with traumatic events and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Samantha is also trained in Neurofeedback (qEEG Brain Mapping, High Performance Neurofeedback (HPN), and LoRETA).
